Tax Reform and the end of another year!by Betty Winn on 12/14/17
It has been a while since I posted anything on this blog. Sorry to those that actually read it.
I am still driving the bus and you can check out my door art reflecting this on the website. Trying not to take myself too serious these days!
This year has been very busy for the school with nearly twenty more students coming through the pre-licensing course than last year. Next year we are raising the education bar by revamping our final exam to the Broker level for all. This means I have to add a little to my curriculum.
In 2018 Salespeople and Broker candidates will take a much more extensive exam to pass the class to move onto the state exam process. Once students pass this exam at 80% (state exam only required 75%) they will be even more prepared and confident as they head to the state testing centers.
We have also added CompuCram to our website allowing another pre-testing experience for our students. Students tell me this product has really helped them with their state testing experience.
We introduced the new Reverse Mortgage Purchase class in 2017 and will do it again in the first quarter of 2018. We are working with YCCA for some CE Panel classes and will continue to offer specialty courses throughout 2018.
Our online courses have attracted many real estate professionals this year who would rather sit at home in there jammies and get their continuing education. I am honored that they decided to take them from my website.
On a different note:
There is a lot of buzz about Tax Reform. With the House and the Senate approving it and now in reconciliation, we can be sure it will take some form or another. On one hand, it sounds bad for the real estate industry and on the other, not too bad. It really depends on where you live.
One aspect of the reform won't depend on location, but time. Watch this video and be informed about how one part of the reform can effect whether or not your clients will want to sell their home today.
Please, have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season!
See you in class in 2018!
